2018 Ingredient Hubs (Back to Beer Basics)

March 12 - 12:00 pm till March 18 - 9:00 pm

2018 Ingredient Hubs (Back to Beer Basics)

All new for 2018 as part of our ‘Back to Beer Basics’ strands are Ingredients Hubs. In total there are five venues throughout Sheffield which will act as a hub for an individual beer ingredient and will host an event around their ingredient. Head out around each hub to discover more on their hosted ingredient in your own time and keep up to date on our events listing page to hear more about their events. We’ve picked one out for each venue to get you started on your beer journey, plus added a few links for each ingredient so you can have a read in your own time.

(Please check individual venues listings for more details or updates.
We’ve just compiled the full list under on event for reference. Event photo credit goes to Mark Newton.)

As one of the Ingredient Hubs for Sheffield Beer Week (adjuncts) Hop Hideout will be welcoming American award winning craft brewery, Hardywood Park. They’ll be hosting a week long tap takeover – draught and bottles/cans; so you can dip in at your own pace through the week. It was a chance meeting Jules had in London in 2017 with their Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Richard, that brought this event idea together. The global beer World is a small place!
On Saturday 10th March they will crack open one special bottle to share round at 2pm and 6pm. No tickets, small tasters, once they’re gone, they’re gone. Mark the date in your diary and it could be a good time to pop in before or after Indie Beer Feast!
The brewery was founded in 2011 by Eric McKay and Patrick Murtaugh and uses local Virginia ingredients in their beers such as the V.I.P.A. They also have highly rated beers with lots of interesting additions – Gingerbread Stout and Virginia Blackberry (Reserve Series). A fresh shipment is arriving just before Sheffield Beer Week and they’re looking forward to showcasing a number of these great tasting brews. Of course showing adjuncts ingredients such as fruit and spices.
